Just 95 minutes from Bristol and you will find yourself in a different world. A world in which work and pleasure join in harmony. Where charm, sophistication and attractions of Torquay provide a positive contribution to delegates’ well being and conference performance
It is now cheaper and easier than ever to travel to your conference in Torquay. First Great Western, Conference Torquay and the Riviera International Conference Centre, have collaborated to offer conference rail fares exclusively to delegates travelling to conferences on the English Riviera. Leave the car at home, do your bit for the environment and let First Great Western whisk you at speeds of up to 125mph direct to Torquay station.
The scheme will provide discounted rail travel to Conference Delegates from all main First Great Western stations, as well as many of the connecting routes to First Great Western from the Home Counties, all accessible through an online booking facility.
These special fares are available approximately 3 months prior to the conference, and can be from as little as £49 return, from London to Torquay. A complete list of fares is available to download below.
Delegates can also enjoy the extra benefits of First Class travel from the same range of departure stations at a special fare as well. For example the return First Class fare from London is just £99 and offers use of First Class lounges at Paddington as well as wider, more luxurious train seating, power points and complimentary refreshments and newspapers. For more information contact us on 01803 206 302, or click on the rail link above for fares and reservations.
The centre is only 6 miles from the A380 dual carriageway and the M5 which links Torquay with the national motorway network to points North, South, East and West. Coach services are also available.

From the left you see Torquay's bustling International marina and palm tree-lined promenade. Taking centre stage you see Torquay's HiFlyer, a huge helium balloon that takes visitors 400ft into the air for a stunning bird's eye view of the coastline. To the right, sweeping views of the Bay and over to Brixham, one of Britain's busiest fishing ports, before resting on neighbouring Torre Abbey's 9-hole Pitch and Putt.
Our milder climate (our average temperature in January is on a par with Nice) palm trees and cosmopolitan style earn us justifiable acclaim as one of Britain’s top coastal resorts, providing the ideal stress free environment for a productive and pleasurable conference offering a unique blend of work and pleasure.
Being a major resort brings us huge advantages: lots of venues, lots of accommodation and lots of choice! Our conference facilities range from the Riviera International Conference Centre (RICC), a 1500 capacity purpose built conference and exhibition centre, to top 3 and 4 star business hotels and even some of our tourist attractions, like the South West Environmental Park &Botanical Gardens and Kents Cavern prehistoric underground caves.
There are endless opportunities for free time relaxation too; we have 5 theatres, 2 cinemas, a casino and a wide choice of pubs, clubs and restaurants.
There is a wealth of heritage here too all providing excellent ideas for themeing: historic figures such as, William – Prince of Orange, Isadora Duncan, Isambard Kingdom Brunel, and literary figures, such as Agatha Christie, Charles Kingsley, Rudyard Kipling and Elizabeth Barrett Browning.
