Brushboarding added to line up of Great Outdoors Exhibition

Brushboarding has now been recently added to the line-up of the Great Outdoors Exhibition in association with Harbour Sports taking place at the Riviera International Centre at the end of May.

Brushboarding will take place on Torre Abbey Meadows from Saturday 29th to Monday 31st May between 10am and 5pm. Brushboarding allows people to experience sports like surfing and snowboarding before spending the money to take it up. It has also been designed to hone the skills of Surfers, Snowboarders and Skateboarders by improving their core strength, fitness, balance and co-ordination.

The ramp is made up of tiny brushes that form a static wave. Different riders will use varying board shapes when Brush Boarding. Surfers go for the longer boards so they simulate carving down a wave; Skateboarders go for the shortest boards so they can hone their skills; Snowboarders are versatile and can have a go at both to improve their technique. Brushboarding is £5 a go or £3 with a Go Expo Wristband.

Outdoor adventure will be the focus of the new Great Outdoors Exhibition coming to the Riviera International Centre on Sunday 30th and Monday 31st May. The Exhibition aims to engage and inspire visitors to step out of their comfort zone and try something new.

Interactive activities including the largest UK Mobile Climbing Wall with Abseiling, Gladiator Jousting and Super Hero Wrestling and more are all included within the Day Pass entry fee. Battle Displays will also take place at 12pm, 2pm and 4pm showcasing experts going head to head in Trials Biking, Parkour, Unicycling and BMX Flatland. One of the professionals in the Sunday and Monday line up is Rick Koekoek who has established himself as one of the best 20" trials riders in the World. Other Professionals include; Lee Musselwhite who is a Pro BMX Flatland Guru and Joe Hodges who is 4 times British Trials Unicycling Champion. Trials Unicycling is a sport that involves jumping across wide gaps and balancing on narrow platforms. Joe has described Trials Unicycling as a form of meditation as he is able to block out all surrounding noise and focus solely on the task at hand.

"This Exhibition is not to be missed as it will provide the ultimate fun family day out with tons of activities that kids and grownups alike can get stuck into, including the Expo Treasure Trail. Inspirational Speakers have also been lined up for the Show who have been specifically chosen to encourage visitors to get active in the outdoors and take advantage of the beautiful landscape we so often take for granted," said Kieran Laureston, Show Organiser.

A Day Pass for Go Expo is £6 on the door or £5 in advance. Family Passes for 2 Adults and 2 Children are also available for £16. To book call 01803 206333 or visit www.goexpo.co.uk.

Although it is widely acknowledged that it takes less than 3 minutes to make a decision when interviewing a candidate for a job vacancy, decisions relating to other processes, such as choosing a venue for your next conference, generally take a little longer. For the British Hip Society this was a most definite exception!
