As many of you will be aware, Confex is now a long established annual event, held to bring all aspects of the Conference Industry, both Nationally and Internationally, together under one roof. It is an excellent networking opportunity and one that has always been a very worthwhile exercise for relationship marketing. Because of the expense we choose to attend alternate years.
So at this years Confex we were delighted to pick up in excess of 40 new contracts, with whom we are now in the process of negotiating and persuading to come and visit Torquay. As in previous years we normally try to do something a bit quirky in order to attract people to our stand and this year was no exception. Picking up on the new mailing compaign using Mike Speaker , we had three large posters displayed on the stand from which people had to pick out Mike from within 3 different crowd scenes, a bit like a 'spot the ball' competition! "From the comments I was getting at the time", says Nicky Harding, Conference Bureau Manager, "those who participated thought it was a really great idea and a lot of fun. Its ice-breaking ideas like this that help us to get talking to people, making them stop, instead of standing still watching potential business walk past your stand".
