Developments for the Riviera International Conference Centre Further developments are in hand at the Riviera International Conference Centre, Torquay. As part of our continued search for more conference business we embrace change to meet the expectations of today’s conference organiser. Conferences now require more breakout rooms. Additionally the Centre has been handicapped by only having two large rooms. Often the Forum Hall is occupied for the main conference session, the Arena Hall for ancillary exhibition, leaving no dedicated delegate dining area. The conference business is of vital importance to Torbay and to the Riviera International Conference Centre and with the increasing competition for large conferences the Centre’s decision to provide further and improved facilities will assist the Conference Bureau (Conference Torquay) in its bid for a larger slice of the conference market and in turn secure more conferences to the Bay and the Riviera International Conference Centre. Over the coming months we will be converting the Terrace Lounge into a new catering operation to replace the Coffee Shop and Garden Room Restaurant. The Coffee Shop and Garden Room Restaurant, which are adjacent to the Forum and Arena Halls, will then be refurbished and become dedicated to Conferences. It will serve as a Dining area or as an additional breakout room or ancillary exhibition area. We hope to have completed the scheme by Spring 2004 although we are already offering the area in anticipation! |
